About The Surveyor
Shelvin Thomas holds a BSc. In Nautical Science and Maritime Operation from the University of Trinidad and Tobago with special focus on; Naval Architecture, Marine Surveying, Marine Engineering, Navigation, Marine Insurance Law, Admiralty Law and Maritime Law amongst other program courses.
In his early years Shelvin gained an affinity for the various vessels he would see sailing on the ocean from the view of his veranda. His childish admiration grew with him as the years passed. After school, Shelvin would Spend time at the Caranage Harbor where he got a closer look at the vessels docked at the port and moored in the lagoon. One Christmas Shelvin bought a remote-controlled boat which he loved and would spend time sailing at the beach. It was only a given that he should pursue a degree in the maritime industry; Hence, his degree in Nautical Science and Maritime Operations.
Upon graduating from University Shelvin secured a job as a marine surveyor with St. Kitts and Nevis Marine Surveying and Consultancy where he gained valuable experience and learned to develop quality surveys with internationally accepted report writing skills.
Being a surveyor and noticing that there is a need for more advanced Non-Destructive Testing techniques to be incorporated into marine surveying, Shelvin Started Alliance Marine Surveyors and Consultancy. Our surveys when paired with advanced inspection techniques, allow for a more thorough inspection giving clients greater peace of mind.
